Er-Rahad is a city situated in the state of North Kordofan in Sudan. Located at an altitude of 490 metres above sea level, it sits approximately 379 kilometres away from the national capital, Khartoum.
The city serves as a major railway station connecting East and Central Sudan with the West. It functions as a significant market for livestock and crops, most notably hibiscus. Additionally, Er-Rahad acts as an urban center for nomadic shepherds in the region and is recognized as the second largest local resource in North Kordofan after the Shikan locality.
