Bariq is a location situated in the Asir Region of southwest Saudi Arabia. The name is associated with the Bariq tribe, which originated from this area and is recognized as part of the ancient Al-Azd tribal group.
The Al-Azd tribe consists of numerous clans, including the Aws, Khazraj, Ghassān, and Banu Khuza'a. Historically, the Bariq people were among the established tribes of Arabia during the era of Muhammad.
