Yaroslavl is a city and the administrative center of Yaroslavl Oblast in Russia. It is situated approximately 250 kilometers (160 mi) northeast of Moscow at the confluence of the Volga and Kotorosl rivers.

The historic part of the city is designated as a World Heritage Site and is a key component of the Golden Ring, a group of historically significant cities located northeast of the capital. As of the 2021 census, the city had a population of 577,279.
