Tutayev is a town located in the Yaroslavl Oblast region of Russia. It serves as a notable settlement situated along the banks of the Volga River.
The town was officially established in 1822 under the name Romanov-Borisoglebsk. This designation resulted from the unification of two much older towns, Romanov and Borisoglebsk, which were positioned on opposite sides of the Volga River.
