Tarko-Sale is a town located in Russia and serves as the administrative center of the Purovsky District within the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. It is situated on the Pyakupur River, specifically near its confluence with the Ayvasedapur river.

The town is positioned approximately 560 kilometers (350 mi) southeast of Salekhard, which is the administrative center of the autonomous okrug. According to census data, the population of Tarko-Sale was 20,398 in 2010, following a previous count of 18,517 in 2002 and 17,400 during the 1989 Soviet census.
