Labytnangi is a town located in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug region of Russia. It is situated on the left bank of the Ob River, approximately 20 kilometers northwest of the city of Salekhard.
According to census data, the population of the town has fluctuated over recent decades. The 1989 Soviet census recorded a population of 31,501, which decreased to 27,304 by 2002 and further to 26,936 in 2010.
