Cherepovets is a city located in the western part of the Vologda Oblast in Russia. It is situated on the banks of the Sheksna River and along the shores of the Rybinsk Reservoir.
As of the 2010 Census, Cherepovets had a population of 312,310 residents. It serves as the most populous city within the Vologda Oblast.
