Uryupinsk is a town located in the Volgograd Oblast of Russia. It is situated on the Khopyor River, approximately 340 kilometers (210 miles) northwest of the city of Volgograd.
According to census data, the population of Uryupinsk has remained relatively stable over recent decades. The 2010 census recorded a population of 41,590, following figures of 41,960 in 2002 and 42,954 during the 1989 Soviet census.
