Torzhok is a town located in the Tver Oblast of Russia. It is situated on the banks of the Tvertsa River and lies along the federal highway M10. The town is also served by a branch of the Oktyabrskaya Railway division of the Russian Railways, positioned approximately 60 kilometres west of the city of Tver.
The town is notably recognized for its traditional folk craft of goldwork embroidery. According to census data, the population was recorded at 41,116 in 2021, following a gradual decline from 49,982 in 1989.
