Bakchar is a rural locality located in the Tomsk Oblast region of Russia. It serves as the administrative center for the Bakcharsky District.
According to census data, the population of the settlement has fluctuated over recent decades. The 2010 census recorded a population of 6,128 residents, following figures of 7,174 in 2002 and 7,308 during the 1989 Soviet census.
