Aktanysh is a rural locality located in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Aktanyshsky District.
Historically known as Lower Aktanyshbash, the settlement has experienced steady population growth over recent decades. According to census data, the population was 8,923 in 2010, an increase from 8,148 in 2002 and 6,814 during the 1989 Soviet census.
