Krasnoturyinsk is a town located in the Sverdlovsk Oblast of Russia. It is situated on the Turya River, approximately 348 kilometers (216 miles) north of the city of Yekaterinburg.
According to census data, the population of the town has fluctuated over recent decades. The 2010 census recorded a population of 59,633, following figures of 64,878 in 2002 and 67,324 during the 1989 Soviet census.
