Kachkanar is a town situated in the Sverdlovsk Oblast region of Russia. It is geographically positioned between the Isa and Vyya Rivers within the basin of the Tura River, located approximately 205 kilometers (127 miles) north of Yekaterinburg, which serves as the administrative center of the oblast.
The town is situated at the foot of mountain Kachkanar. According to census data, its population was recorded at 41,426 in 2010, following previous counts of 44,664 in 2002 and 48,251 during the 1989 Soviet census.
