Irbit is a town located in the Sverdlovsk Oblast of Russia. It is situated on the right bank of the Nitsa river, positioned approximately 203 kilometers (126 mi) from Yekaterinburg by train and 250 kilometers (160 mi) by car.
According to census data, the population of Irbit has fluctuated over recent decades. The 2021 census recorded a population of 37,009, following figures of 38,357 in 2010, 43,318 in 2002, and 51,708 during the 1989 Soviet census.
