Svetlograd is a town located in the Stavropol Krai region of Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Petrovsky District and is situated on the banks of the Kalaus River.
The town is positioned approximately 85 kilometers (53 miles) northeast of Stavropol, which is the administrative center of the krai. According to census data, the population was recorded at 38,520 in 2010, following a figure of 39,370 in 2002 and 37,213 during the 1989 Soviet census.
