Smolensk is a city located in Russia and serves as the administrative center of the Smolensk Oblast. It is situated on the Dnieper River at a distance of approximately 360 kilometers (220 mi) west-southwest of Moscow.
As of the 2021 census, the city has a population of 316,570 residents.
