Beslan is a town located in Russia, serving as the administrative center of the Pravoberezhny District within the Republic of North Ossetia–Alania. It is situated approximately 29 kilometers (18 mi) north of Vladikavkaz, the republic's capital, and lies near the border with the Republic of Ingushetia.
According to the 2010 Census, Beslan has a population of 36,728. It ranks as the third largest town in the republic, following Vladikavkaz and Mozdok.
