Alagir is an industrial town located in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Alagirsky District and is situated on the west bank of the Ardon River.
The town is positioned approximately 54 kilometers (34 mi) west of Vladikavkaz, which is the capital of the republic. According to the 2010 Census, the population of Alagir was 20,949.
