Khvalynsk is a river port town situated in the Saratov Oblast region of Russia. It is located on the right bank of the Volga River, positioned at the foot of the Khvalynsk Mountains.
The town is geographically situated approximately 180 kilometers northeast of Saratov and 160 kilometers southwest of Samara. According to census data, the population was recorded as 13,094 in 2010, following a gradual decline from 16,000 in 1974.
