Sestroretsk is a municipal town located in the Kurortny District of the federal city of St. Petersburg, Russia. It is situated on the shores of the Gulf of Finland and sits near the Sestra River and Sestroretskiy Lake.
The town is positioned approximately 34 kilometers (21 miles) northwest of St. Petersburg. According to census data, the population was recorded at 37,248 in 2010, following a trend of fluctuation from previous decades.
