Chapayevsk is a town located in the Samara Oblast of Russia. It is situated on the right bank of the Chapayevka River, approximately 40 kilometers (25 miles) from the city of Samara.
According to census data, the population of the town has fluctuated over recent decades. The 1989 Soviet census recorded a population of 97,984, which decreased to 73,912 by 2002 and further to 72,692 as of the 2010 census.
