Tymovskoye

Tymovskoye is an urban locality situated in the central part of Sakhalin Island in Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Tymovsky District and is located on the right bank of the Tym River, approximately 450 kilometers (280 mi) north of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

According to census data, the population of the locality has fluctuated over recent decades. The population was recorded at 10,869 during the 1989 Soviet census, decreased to 8,532 in 2002, and stood at 7,855 as of the 2010 census.
