Pokrovsk is a city located in the Donetsk Oblast of Ukraine. It serves as the administrative center of the Pokrovsk Raion and is situated approximately 56 kilometres (35 mi) northwest of Donetsk. The city was formerly known by the names Krasnoarmiisk and Grishino.
Prior to 2020, Pokrovsk was incorporated as a city of oblast significance with a population of about 60,127. However, following Russia's Pokrovsk offensive, the population saw a significant decline due to residents fleeing or being killed. By January 2025, the population had fallen to around 7,000, and by late July 2025, it was reported to be under 1,500. Russia captured the city in early 2026.
