Tsimlyansk is a town located in the Rostov Oblast of Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Tsimlyansky District and is situated on the right bank of the Don River along the coast of the Tsimlyansk Reservoir.
The town is positioned approximately 236 kilometers (147 miles) northeast of Rostov-on-Don, which is the administrative center of the oblast. According to census data, the population was recorded at 15,028 in 2010, following figures of 15,444 in 2002 and 15,343 in the 1989 Soviet census.
