Pytalovo is a town located in the Pskov Oblast of Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Pytalovsky District and is situated on the Utroya River, approximately 102 kilometers southwest of Pskov, which is the administrative center of the oblast.
According to census data, the population of the town has shown a gradual decline over several decades. The population was recorded at 7,166 during the 1989 Soviet census, decreasing to 6,806 in 2002 and further down to 5,826 by the 2010 census.
