Porkhov

Porkhov is a town and the administrative center of the Porkhovsky District in the Pskov Oblast region of Russia. It is situated on the banks of the Shelon River, located approximately 75 kilometers (47 miles) east of Pskov, which serves as the administrative center of the oblast.

The town's population has fluctuated over recent decades, recorded at 10,608 in the 2010 census. This follows a previous count of 12,263 in 2002 and 14,170 during the 1989 Soviet census.
