Novorzhev is a town located in the Pskov Oblast of Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Novorzhevsky District and is situated on the Sorot River, approximately 144 kilometers (89 miles) southeast of Pskov, which is the oblast's administrative center.
According to census data, the population of the town has fluctuated over recent decades. The 2010 census recorded a population of 3,695 residents, following figures of 4,125 in 2002 and 5,050 during the 1989 Soviet census.
