Vladivostok is a major city in Russia, serving as the administrative center of Primorsky Krai and the capital of the Far Eastern Federal District. It is situated around the Golden Horn Bay on the Sea of Japan and covers a total area of 331.16 square kilometers.
As of 2021, the city has a population of 603,519 residents. While it is the capital of its district, it ranks as the second-largest city in both the Far Eastern Federal District and the Russian Far East, following Khabarovsk.
The city's geographic location places it approximately 45 kilometers from the China–Russia border and 134 kilometers from the North Korea–Russia border.
