Smolyaninovo is an urban locality situated in the Primorsky Krai region of Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Shkotovsky District and is located approximately 45 kilometers (28 miles) from Vladivostok, or about 73 kilometers (45 miles) by road.
According to census data, the population of Smolyaninovo has fluctuated over recent decades. The 1989 Soviet census recorded a population of 18,831, which decreased to 6,448 in 2002 and reached 6,715 by the 2010 census.
