Kuznetsk is a town located in the Penza Oblast region of Russia. It is situated within the foothills of the Volga Upland, primarily positioned along the left bank of the Truyov River.
According to census data, the population of the town has fluctuated over recent decades. The 2010 census recorded a population of 88,839, following figures of 92,050 in 2002 and 98,588 during the 1989 Soviet census.
