Mtsensk is a town located in the Oryol Oblast of Russia. It is situated on the Zusha River, approximately 49 kilometers (30 miles) northeast of Oryol, which serves as the administrative center of the oblast.
According to census data, the population of Mtsensk has fluctuated over recent decades. The 2010 census recorded a population of 43,222, following figures of 47,807 in 2002 and 48,400 in the 1989 Soviet census.
