Kargat is a town located in the Novosibirsk Oblast of Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Kargatsky District and is situated on the banks of the river Kargat.
According to census data, the population of the town has fluctuated over recent decades. The 2010 census recorded a population of 10,042, following previous counts of 11,184 in 2002 and 12,561 in 1989.
