Solnechnogorsk is a town and the administrative center of the Solnechnogorsky District in Moscow Oblast, Russia. It is situated on the coast of Senezh Lake, approximately 65 kilometers (40 miles) northwest of Moscow.
The town is located along both the Moscow–St. Petersburg Highway and the Moscow–St. Petersburg railway. According to census data, its population was 52,944 in 2010, following a previous count of 58,374 in 2002 and 55,554 in 1989.
