Shatura is a town located in the Moscow Oblast of Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Shatursky District and is situated on Lake Svyatoye, approximately 124 kilometers (77 miles) east of Moscow.
According to census data, the population of the town has remained relatively stable over recent decades. The 2010 census recorded a population of 32,885, following figures of 31,635 in the 1989 Soviet census and 30,393 in the 2002 census.
