Pushchino is a town located in the Moscow Oblast of Russia. It is situated approximately 100 kilometers south of Moscow and 13 kilometers southeast of Serpukhov. The town lies on the right side of the Oka River, positioned opposite the Prioksko-Terrasny Nature Reserve.
The settlement serves as an important scientific center for the Russian Academy of Sciences. It is often referred to by the informal name Pushchino-on-Oka. According to the 2010 census, the town has a population of 20,332 residents.
