Mytishchi is a city located in Russia and serves as the administrative center of the Mytishchinsky District in the Moscow Oblast. It is situated approximately 19 km northeast of Moscow along the Yauza River and the Moscow–Yaroslavl railway. As of 2022, the city has a population of roughly 262,702 people.
Historically, Mytishchi served as an important waypoint for traders traveling on the Yauza River, with the Yaroslavl Highway passing through the city. The area is notable for its aqueduct constructed in 1804, which functioned as the first water supply pipeline to provide for the expanding population of Moscow.
