Mozhaysk is a town located in the Moscow Oblast of Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Mozhaysky District and is situated approximately 110 kilometers (68 mi) west of Moscow.
The town sits on the historic road that leads toward Smolensk and Poland. According to census data, the population was recorded at 31,363 in 2010, following a figure of 31,459 in 2002 and 30,735 during the 1989 Soviet census.
