Lukhovitsy is a town located in the Moscow Oblast region of Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Lukhovitsky District and is situated on the banks of the Oka River, approximately 135 kilometers (84 miles) southeast of Moscow.
According to census data, the population of the town has remained relatively stable over recent decades. The 2010 census recorded a population of 29,850, following figures of 32,403 in 2002 and 32,501 during the 1989 Soviet census.
