Staroye Shaygovo is a rural locality situated in the Republic of Mordovia, Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Staroshaygovsky District.
The settlement has maintained a relatively stable population over recent decades. According to census data, the population was 5,258 in 1989, 5,205 in 2002, and 5,185 in 2010.
