Yelets, also known as Elets, is a city located in the Lipetsk Oblast of Russia. It is situated on the banks of the Bystraya Sosna River, which serves as a tributary of the Don River.
According to census data, the city's population has fluctuated over recent decades. The 2021 census recorded a population of 99,875, following figures of 108,404 in 2010 and 116,726 in 2002.
