Kirishi is a town and the administrative center of the Kirishsky District in the Leningrad Oblast region of Russia. It is situated on the right bank of the Volkhov River, located approximately 115 kilometers (71 mi) southeast of St. Petersburg.
According to census data, the population of the town has remained relatively stable over recent decades. The 2010 census recorded a population of 52,309, following figures of 55,634 in 2002 and 53,014 during the 1989 Soviet census.
