Kurganinsk is a town located in the Krasnodar Krai region of Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Kurganinsky District and is situated on the right bank of the Bolshaya Laba River, approximately 248 kilometers (154 miles) east of the regional capital, Krasnodar.
The town's population has shown steady growth over recent decades. According to census data, the population was 40,763 in 1989, rising to 46,618 in 2002 and 47,970 in 2010, before reaching 48,194 in 2020.
