Vuktyl is a town located in the Komi Republic of Russia. It is situated on the right bank of the Pechora River near the confluence with the Vuktyl River, approximately 575 kilometers (357 miles) northeast of Syktyvkar, which serves as the republic's capital.

According to census data, the population of the town has fluctuated over recent decades. The 1989 Soviet census recorded a population of 19,330, while the 2002 census reported 14,472 residents. By the 2010 census, the population was recorded at 12,356.
