Surgut is a city located in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug of Russia. It is situated along the banks of the Ob River.
The city is notable for being one of the few urban centers in Russia with a population, economic activity, and tourist traffic that exceed those of its federal subject's capital or administrative center. According to the 2021 Russian census, Surgut has a population of 396,443.
