Nyagan

Nyagan is a town located in the northwest of the Khanty–Mansi Autonomous Okrug in Russia. It is situated near the Ob River and lies approximately 230 kilometers (140 miles) northwest of the regional center, Khanty-Mansiysk.

The settlement derives its name from the Nyagan-Yugan River, which serves as a tributary of the Ob River. According to census data, the population of the town was 63,034 in 2021, following previous counts of 54,890 in 2010 and 52,610 in 2002.
