Kaltan is a town located in the Kemerovo Oblast region of Russia. It is situated along the Kondoma River, approximately 338 kilometers (210 miles) south of Kemerovo, which serves as the administrative center of the oblast.
According to census data, the population of the town has fluctuated over recent decades. The 2010 census recorded a population of 21,892, following a figure of 25,591 in 2002 and 25,369 during the 1989 Soviet census.
