Segezha is a town and the administrative center of the Segezhsky District in the Republic of Karelia, Russia. It is situated on the western shore of Lake Vygozero along the Segezha River, located approximately 267 kilometers (166 mi) north of Petrozavodsk.
According to census data, the population of the town has fluctuated over recent decades. The 2010 census recorded a population of 29,631, following figures of 34,214 in 2002 and 38,207 during the 1989 Soviet census.
