Karachayevsk is a town located in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic of Russia. It is situated along the Kuban River within the Caucasus Mountains.
The population of the town was recorded at 21,582 during the 1989 Soviet census, 22,113 in the 2002 census, and 21,483 in the 2010 census.
