Tarusa is a town located in the Kaluga Oblast of Russia. It serves as the administrative center of the Tarussky District and is situated on the left bank of the Oka River.
The town is positioned approximately 76 kilometers (47 miles) northeast of Kaluga, which is the administrative center of the oblast. According to the 2021 census, the population of Tarusa was 9,918 residents.
