Obninsk is a city located in the Kaluga Oblast region of Russia. It is situated on the bank of the Protva River, positioned approximately 100 kilometers (62 mi) southwest of Moscow and 80 kilometers (50 mi) northeast of Kaluga.
According to the 2021 census, the city has a population of 125,376 residents.
